Love the photographer: Shinichi Maruyama

I spent a whole day watching Japanese cartoons today. The cartoons failed inspiring me on either photography or design, but this photo did.

Shinichi Maruyama, the 40-year-old Japaneses photographer, does some beautiful, pure inspiring work on Kusho. I love his work because he brings taking photos of water to a new level. The black adds something to this photo, and makes it that beautiful.

It is about a moment, a fraction of a second. I remember talking to someone about photography, and he told me that photography will never die, because it captures a moment–something our eyes don’t usually see. We are so used to moving objects, and that’s why still images are precious.
